Three events. One week. A whole lot of women showing up for each other.
This month, I had the honour of photographing QuadReal Property Group’s International Women’s Day event series — three back-to-back celebrations across three of their Vancouver properties. Each event centred around a simple but powerful idea: women deserve to be seen, celebrated, and set up with a stunning new headshot.
The events featured on-site hair and makeup by Allyson Grant, glam portraits and headshots by Claire Garner Photography, live music by DJ Bria, and sweet treats from Bon Macaron Patisserie. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to make attendees feel like the main character — because, for one afternoon, they were.
The “Give & Gain” Wall: Women exchanging real, hard-earned career and life advice. That part? Quietly, the most powerful thing in the room.

What the Camera Was Really Looking For
As the event photographer, my role was to capture what couldn’t be staged: the candid laughter between colleagues, the quiet moment of confidence before stepping in front of the lens, and the genuine connection that fills a room when people feel truly welcomed. Those are the moments that make a brand feel real — and that’s exactly what QuadReal’s team delivered.

Why Event Photography Matters More Than You Think
Event photography is often treated as a nice-to-have. It’s not. Done well, it’s one of the highest-ROI investments a brand can make. The images from a single well-photographed event become your social proof — real humans, real reactions, real community rallying around your brand. They become your next event invitation (the one that makes people think, “I want to be in that room”), your recruiting asset, your culture story, and your marketing content, all at once.
There’s a reason brands that invest in event photography consistently fill their next event faster. When people see themselves and their colleagues genuinely enjoying an experience, it creates belonging — and belonging drives action. The photos don’t just document what happened. They make people want to be part of what happens next.

A Brand That Builds Culture Worth Documenting
What struck me most across all three events wasn’t the glam — though there was plenty of it. It was the atmosphere QuadReal created: one where women felt celebrated, not just included. That’s a harder thing to build than a beautiful event space. It takes intention. And it shows up in the photos.
Thank you, QuadReal, for building that kind of culture — and for letting me document it.
